Golden Island International Film Festival Announces Film Programme Featuring ‘Finding Family’ & ‘Dead Cat’

The Golden Island International Film Festival, in partnership with Creditwest Bank, has revealed the exciting programme for the inaugural festival to be held in Cyprus.

Over the course of 7 days and nights, the festival will screen over 50 features, documentaries and shorts across 5 venues including extended Q & A’s with many guests from the films. Competition Films of SFF to Broadcast

Al Jazeera Balkans will transmit the film by Danis Tanović “Episode in the life of an iron picker ” in the area of the former Yugoslavia, while HRT will show the film onthe Croatian territory.  HRT is negotiating for TV rights for films from competition program of the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival, and basically for the films from documentary selection.

Finding Family Documentary

In June 2012 I travelled to Sarajevo to start an upcoming documentary ”Finding Family” (working title) with fellow filmmaker and a good friend,  Chris Leslie who in 1997 set up and ran photography projects for kids in the local orphanage. The project ran for 4 years as he returned every summer for 3 or 4 months to replenish the project and run classes.  Read more
